Caballitos de Totora (Little Reed Horses) have been used by Peruvian fishermen for over 3,000 years. Fishermen ride waves on these small reed boats, much like surfing. They store their nets and fish that they catch in the small cavity below where they sit. The small surf and fishing town, Huanchaco in northern Peru, is famous for these watercraft.
